Hello there people of the internet, today I will be showing you how to make your very own DIY magnetic bookmark. This project is very quick and easy to create so you should definitely give it a go if you are the kind of person who likes to read.

Also this bookmark has the added bonus of not falling out of your book... because it's magnetic which is awesome!

You will need:

  • Patterned paper
  • Scissors
  • A pencil
  • A ruler
  • Glue
  • 2x magnets

Thin magnets are preferable however it only makes a difference to the way the bookmark sits in your book so it isn't that important.

Rule out the width and length of your bookmark. I chose to go with 4cm wide by the length my paper was as it was only small however when I went back and made my second bookmark I chose 4cm by 18cm.

After you are happy with the size of your bookmark go ahead and cut it out.

Once that's done you can glue the magnets on and you're finished! Now you can go enjoy reading a good book and now have to stick random pages of homework in between to mark what page you're up to.

Also in non technical terms that doesn't involve poles that Santa Claus may or may not live at (hopefully someone understands what I was just talking about) make sure you know which ends are attracted/stick to one another because if you glue them on the wrong way round you just have a folded piece of paper with two black dots on it and not a super awesome magnetic bookmark.
