RECENT READS #3

Hey there friends! Today I thought it would be fun to share with you some of the books I have been reading because I've started reading a lot more over the past few weeks.

Also please excuse any weird things I may have written. I wrote it when I was quite tired.

By the way this isn't meant to be a proper book review kind of thing. In reality it's basically just listing books saying a small bit about it that doesn't really give you much of an idea about what it was like, I just say if I liked it or not. Whereas from what I've seen of proper book reviews they go into way more detail.

#1
Boy Nobody by Allen Zadoff.
Now I know everyone always says, "Don't judge a book by it's cover" which is also kind of a metaphor for other things but for this case let's just focus its meaning on literal books and the fact is people do judge books by their cover and I am one of those people. I don't mean that I won't read a book just because it has a boring cover, but I am always instantly drawn to ones with cool illustrations so when I saw this book I simply had to read it. Why? Well because it had orange pages of course!
I found this book really interesting and managed to finish it in one afternoon. The story line is really interesting (it's about this assassin type kid who as the word assassin implies gets sent on missions to kill certain people) and I haven't read anything like it before. Although if it didn't have orange pages I honestly don't think I would have read it as the blurb didn't interest me all that much however just for the record I never normally read the blurb.

#2
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone or depending on what country you're from the Sorcerer's Stone. (hopefully you already know who wrote this. If not look it up on the wonderous internet. The internet is like a magical unicorn pony thing, it holds many answers but not all of them however it will tell you the author)
So I've read this before, but that was a long time ago now (saying a long time ago makes me feel like I'm an 80 year old or some such age reminiscing on my life...) but I still really enjoyed reading it a second time round. The only issue I had with it is that the font was so small and I found it hard to read, especially if it was late at night.

Song of the Slums by Richard Harland
I'm just saying but if you don't read much, depending on whether or not the genre of this book interests you I thought it was written in a way that made it really easy to read.
It's certainly not my favourite book but I liked it enough to read it a second time so in my opinion it's not all that bad either.

#4
The Keepers, Museum of Thieves by Lian Tanner
So far I'm really liking this book... and I don't have much else to say.

I'm also reading Looking for Alibrandi for English.

If you have read any of these books be sure to let me know what you thought of them! :)
Also if you have some book recommendations then leave a comment with them because I love reading new books.

Till next time,
Erin xoxo.
